Capcom will be ending sales of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition on June 24th, while also withdrawing a number of its most controversial fast-progress microtransactions.
In a statement posted across the game’s social channels, the studio thanked players for their continued loyalty, explaining that, “because of the creation of extra content and a range of adjustments planned for the upcoming title update,” many in-game items—especially those that speed up key progression mechanics—will be removed from sale.
Beginning June 25th, the items below will no longer be available to buy on any platform (though they can still be “used” if you already own them):
- Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition
- A Boon for Adventurers – New Journey Pack
- Harpysnare Smoke Beacons – Harpy Lure Item
- Heartfelt Pendant – A Thoughtful Gift
- Ambivalent Rift Incense – Change Pawn Inclinations
- Makeshift Gaol Key – Escape from Gaol
- Art of Metamorphosis – Character Editor
- Portcrystal – Warp Location Marker
- Wakestone – Restore the Dead to Life
- 500 Rift Crystals – Points to Spend Beyond the Rift
- 1500 Rift Crystals – Points to Spend Beyond the Rift
- 2500 Rift Crystals – Points to Spend Beyond the Rift

Dragon’s Dogma 2, Explorer’s Camping Kit, and Dragon’s Dogma Music and Sound Collection will still be offered for purchase.
“We appreciate your support!” the team added. “We hope you’ll show the same excitement and attachment for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen as you did for Dragon’s Dogma 2.”
News of a Dragon’s Dogma 2 release for Nintendo Switch 2 was one of the biggest surprises from last week’s Nintendo Direct. Even so, the Dark Arisen edition is the one that includes the new expansion, and it’s also scheduled to arrive on the other versions of the game. Capcom is taking this moment to make meaningful upgrades to the fantasy role-playing title.
After more than a year with no updates aimed at tackling the game’s various performance issues—or improving other areas such as the lack of enemy scaling in New Game Plus—Capcom shared a two-part roadmap designed to ready the game better ahead of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen’s October 9th debut.
