CD Projekt reportedly has a second multiplayer Witcher game in development that’s free-to-play and coming to mobile and PC

With work on The Witcher 4 continuing steadily and we still don’t have a release date for The Witcher 3’s next expansion—its first DLC in ten years—a new report has claimed that CD Projekt is preparing a second Witcher multiplayer title, one that was not previously revealed.

The details trace back to MP1st, where sources say this additional multiplayer effort—a free-to-play cooperative action-RPG—runs separately from CD Projekt’s highly anticipated Project Sirius.

According to the report, the free-to-play game takes place in 1230, “at a time when Geralt was still a young witcher,” and it draws from elements of the main series’ combat and progression. “From a gameplay standpoint, the experience will task you with hunting monsters across a range of locations,” MP1st explained. “Combat is driven by a skills-oriented framework, giving you the option to choose techniques from different witcher schools, shaping your fighting style by learning Signs and brewing potions.” The same source also states that players will be able to build and personalize their own witchers.

MP1st’s sources further claim that this free-to-play title is designed mainly for PC and mobile, unlike Project Sirius, which is described as a larger release planned for PC and consoles.

At the moment, there’s no specific information about the studio involved. Still, it’s useful to remember that CD Projekt formed a collaboration with the Saudi-backed mobile developer Scopely last year, aiming to “develop a game based on one of [the studio’s] IPs.” This followed confirmation in 2024 that the company was assessing licensing options to bring The Witcher and Cyberpunk to mobile devices.

CD Projekt Red has been contacted for comments about the report.
