In the Level 7 Main Quest, Take to the Skies in Witchspire, you’ll need to unlock a Broom. If you’ve sped through the story so far, it might not be clear how to pull this off.
That’s exactly why this walkthrough exists. Below, I’ve laid out everything you must do to unlock a Broom in Witchspire and start zooming around the map.
How to unlock a Broom in Witchspire
At some point, you’ll be asked to unlock a Broom during Level 7 Main Quest – Take to the Skies in Witchspire, though you might still be missing the Broom crafting recipe.
Before you can craft your first Broom, there are a few tasks you’ll need to finish, and I’ll walk you through each one here:
1. Raise your Hearth to Level 4.
To unlock and manufacture a Broom, you first need to set aside time to upgrade your Hearth to Level 4.
To check your current Hearth level and see what materials are required for the next upgrade, just interact with it. After that, a list of items for the next enhancement will appear. Once your Hearth hits Level 4, you’ll be very close to unlocking and creating your first Broom.
2. Unlock and build the Witchcraft Circle.
To craft a Broom, you must unlock the Witchcraft Circle in the central area of your Luminaries Skill Tree. This option becomes available once you have Hearth Level 3, which is why upgrading your Hearth early is a smart move.
After unlocking the Witchcraft Circle, open your build menu by pressing ‘B’ near your Hearth, then construct the Witchcraft Circle with five Spirit Dust and 25 Stone.
3. Unlock and craft the Simple Broom.
Directly above the Witchcraft Circle within the Luminaries Skill Tree, you can unlock the Simple Broom recipe. As with the other steps, this requires Hearth Level 4 to unlock.
Once you’ve gained the Simple Broom recipe, interact with the Witchcraft Circle you built. The recipe should now be visible. You can then craft the Simple Broom using five Spirit Dust and three Fine Wood.
4. Equip and use the Simple Broom.
When your Broom is crafted, press tab to open your inventory, then choose ‘Character’. On the top-right side of your character screen, you can equip and remove gear, including the Simple Broom.
Put the Simple Broom into the slot on your character menu with the small broom icon beside it, then exit the character menu. After that, just press V and take off!
Before you get too carried away, though, keep in mind that even though you can stay airborne for a good while in Witchspire, your ability to fly depends on whether you’ve unlocked the area’s Flight Pillar.
