Hello everyone—today we’re saying a sincere farewell to Aoife Wilson, Eurogamer’s experienced Head of Video, as she moves on to a thrilling new role beyond the Gamer Network family after almost ten years with us.
Aoife genuinely earns a heartfelt thank-you for the commitment she’s brought to every year of Eurogamer’s video work, where she helped build a brilliant audience alongside Ian and Zoe, and for the meaningful contributions she made right here on the site.
When she started at Eurogamer in 2014, I still clearly remember being impressed by her talent, deep know-how, and wide-ranging understanding of Marvel comics as well as Japanese RPGs. That said, one of my standout memories is the period when we spent time putting together the occasional Arcadia Baes podcast run—breaking down and speculating on each episode of Life is Strange as it came out.
Over the years since then, Aoife kept shaping the site and its YouTube channel—speaking with Neil Druckmann about the leaks and audience responses to The Last of Us Part 2, producing countless installments of Breakquest Club and Late To The Party, streaming Lethal Company and hosting many sessions from the Final Fantasy franchise, and connecting with thousands of readers and viewers at events like MCM and EGX. And yes, of course, there was the moment she met Jeff Goldblum.
