New Crimson Desert update finally solves the case of the missing outdoor furniture

Pearl Abyss has released an additional patch for Crimson Desert, its highly anticipated single-player RPG based on the widely known Korean MMO, Black Desert.

While this update is more modest than earlier releases that added brand-new mounts and minigames like pinball, it still includes several useful upgrades. For example, outdoor furniture you set down will now stay put, which can save you a lot of hassle. The patch also ensures you can climb onto moving objects as intended.

These improvements are included in Crimson Desert’s 1.12.01 update, currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. If you’re playing via Epic Games Store or the Mac App Store, you can expect a short wait before the update arrives, though Pearl Abyss has confirmed it’s already on the way.

You can read the full patch notes, pulled straight from the official Crimson Desert website, below:

  • Fixed an issue where outdoor furniture would disappear under certain circumstances.
  • Resolved a problem that prevented players from climbing onto moving objects in specific cases.
  • Corrected an error causing lighting on glass materials to appear unnatural.
  • Fixed terrain along the route to the Sanctum of Faith appearing to float in mid-air.
  • Corrected an issue where Skunky would vanish after being placed in camp.

Although the game’s early reception was fairly mixed—something that even contributed to a decline in Pearl Abyss’ stock—Crimson Desert has since grown into a major success. Earlier this month, the developer said that Crimson Desert has surpassed 6 million copies sold worldwide since its March launch. The company also reports that this momentum has enabled Pearl Abyss to provide each employee with a bonus of roughly $3,400, and work on DLC for Crimson Desert is currently underway.
