Eurogamer welcomes Jim Trinca

Hi everyone—I’m delighted to welcome the fantastic Jim Trinca to the Eurogamer crew as our newest video producer.

Jim joins us after spending the past two years working at our partner site VG247. They marked his departure earlier this week with an emotional goodbye delivered in a playful manner, which led some readers to think he may have passed away. Rest assured, that isn’t what happened.

Instead, Jim is stepping into Eurogamer alongside Ian and Zoe as part of a newly formed Triforce of talent focused on our YouTube channel. You should also look out for Jim here on the main site from time to time—usually just his head.

If you’ve been following gaming writing and videos for as long as I have, you’ll likely recognize Jim as a highly experienced professional in this space—and someone who really knows his stuff. I’m genuinely happy to have him with us, and here he is with a few thoughts:

“I am truly thrilled to join the Eurogamer team. Since I was a kid, I’ve been passionate about gaming, and this site has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. Note: I can’t recall anything before 2003, or after 2008.

“As a reader, I look back with nostalgia on the era of Rob Fahey and Ellie Gibson, who opened the door for so many other standout contributors, both then and now. It’s a genuine privilege to be another small link in that line.

“I’ve already been met with a great welcome from the community, the whole editorial team, and I’ve been fully welcomed by my colleagues Ian and Zoe on the video side. I’m excited to keep making engaging content for you to watch—whether that means cheering along or getting a bit frustrated. Thanks, Tom! Thanks, everyone!”

Thanks again, as always, for taking the time to read—and please give Jim a warm welcome in the comments.
