Dark mode comes to Eurogamer

For quite a while, dark mode has been one of the most requested options on our site, and we’re delighted to share that it’s now live on Eurogamer. Whether you’re a night-time browser revisiting the newest Digital Foundry breakdowns, a seasoned RPG player using our guides in candlelit surroundings (or anywhere with gentle lighting), or simply someone who takes eye comfort seriously—dark mode is now available.

In the footer, you’ll find a new control that lets you switch between light and dark whenever you want. Choose the option that feels right for you. If you set it to “Auto,” the site will follow the color preferences saved in your computer or mobile device’s operating system. Your selection will also be stored so it’s ready for your next visit.

We’ve put in the work to fine-tune this update by checking readability and contrast, and by making sure it works smoothly across articles, comments, and everything else in between. That said, as with any new feature, you may run into bugs or details we didn’t catch. If anything seems off, please let us know.

We hope you’ll enjoy it—whether you’ve been with us since the beginning, back when the site was actually a dark-themed destination!—or you’re encountering it for the first time today.

Thanks for your continued support, and we hope you like the updated look (along with better battery performance).
