Where’s our Borderlands 4 review?

Hi there! We’re back again with another update about our review progress, though you’re probably already able to predict where things stand. To be clear: you may have seen some Borderlands 4 reviews going up around this period, but today we won’t be publishing one on our site—nor will we have it ready at the game’s full release tomorrow.

The reason is simple. As of the moment I’m writing this, we still haven’t received any advance review codes for Borderlands 4 from the publisher, 2K Games. With that said, it’s also the usual time for a quick rundown of the standard points to remember.

The key takeaway, as always, is that we aren’t automatically owed early review materials. The publisher controls if and when those codes are issued, since it’s ultimately their offering to manage access as they see fit. With that in mind, please treat this as another “PSA” along the lines of ones we’ve shared in the past during similar situations—whether that was No Man’s Sky, Watch Dogs 2, Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Starfield, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, MindsEye, or most recently, Mafia: The Old Country.

We haven’t been able to get a preview of Borderlands 4 for other coverage, so here’s an official trailer to give you a quick introduction.Watch on YouTube

As always, we’ll work to bring you a review as quickly as we can. While you wait, feel free to read our take on the previous entry with our Borderlands 3 review, along with our thoughts on the newest release from developer Gearbox, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
