Summer Game Fest 2026 roundup

Summer Game Fest 2026 is the big moment for the Not-E3 era. (I’m sure Geoff Keighley gets a real kick out of it.) The opening presentation delivers two hours packed with new game announcements, details on upcoming releases, and plenty of standout reveals—plus launch dates. Personally, I’m still crossing my fingers for a look at Okami 2, though let’s be real: that feels pretty unlikely. (Future Lottie: I ended up being right, yet I still felt a little disappointed.) If you missed the event—or just want a quick recap of everything that was announced—you can check the list of featured games and their trailers below.

Resident Evil – Code: Veronica

We kicked off Summer Game Fest 2026 with a freezing trip to Paris, though romance wasn’t exactly on the menu. Before long, we were whisked away to a bleak stretch of woods. Then, it was confirmed: the game is Resident Evil – Code: Veronica! Yes, a new remake of Resident Evil is officially in the works.

Resident Evil – Code: Veronica launches in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

New Cuphead Game and Mighty Cuphead Adventure

Who put a new Cuphead title on their Summer Game Fest bingo card? If that was you, it’s hard not to be thrilled when that puppet finally showed up. Beyond knowing it exists, there isn’t much more to go on yet—but hopefully that changes soon. One thing’s for sure: it’ll be hand-drawn!

Studio MDHR’s announcements didn’t stop there. We also got a quick look at Mighty Cuphead Adventure. This is a brand-new 8-bit action platformer planned for consoles and PC at some point down the line.

Alien Isolation 2

After that, we were sent to a stormy world as Alien Isolation 2 was unveiled. Looks like we’re in for more science-fiction horror too, especially with the Aliens returning as they prepare to plant their eggs—right inside you. It’s going to hurt, but wow, does the game look striking.

Alien Isolation 2 is set to release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Gen Atlas

Gen Atlas is Fumito Ueda’s latest project—creator of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian. So yes, we’re talking about a handful of hugely respected titles. Originally teased during The Game Awards 2024, we’ve finally received a more meaningful first look at Gen Atlas!

In Gen Atlas, you’ll explore a mysterious planet where silence feels endless. The world is scattered with strange structures and abandoned buildings. Eventually, you’ll come across a robot, but that encounter only adds to the planet’s secrets as you push into fresh areas.

Gen Atlas launches on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Blood Message

From far-off worlds to ancient China, Blood Message is a new single-player action-adventure. You play as a messenger heading into a dangerous journey with your son, where it often feels like fate is working against you.

Stranger Than Heaven

If you’re looking for a new game set in Japan and featuring Tupac, then Stranger Than Heaven is the one to watch. And yes—Snoop Dogg too! To give you a sense of what’s coming, it’s a new third-person action-adventure that puts you in the role of Makoto Daito. Taking place across five separate locations spanning five different eras, you’ll act as a showman while running a variety of musical events—but it won’t be only about the music.

Stranger Than Heaven is scheduled to release on January 15, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Haex

Haex is an upcoming open-world action-adventure set in a land called the Wild North. Here’s the twist: it’s a procedurally generated world, so there’s no telling where it might take you. Chasing (and dodging) monsters with other players will probably shape most of your adventures. The trailer also hinted at some engaging puzzle sections. (And an angry wall.)

Haex will be available on PC in 2027.

Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight’s tenth anniversary is almost here, and Summer Game Fest brought along an appropriately creepy trailer to mark the milestone. I don’t think I’ll be enjoying it when people start telling me “happy birthday” anytime soon…

Dead by Daylight’s tenth anniversary celebrations begin on June 14, 2026, at 8 PM (ET).

Mortal Shell II

Next up, we got a dose of medieval fantasy with the announcement that the open beta for Mortal Shell II is now live. If you’ve ever wanted to defeat monsters with a lute, this is the time to check out what’s available on PC.

Sand Raiders of Sophie

I won’t lie—I briefly convinced myself this was Wild Wild West The Game. Seriously, who else thought that house looked a lot like the robotic spider from that movie? (And for the record, I don’t mind spoilers—the film came out in 1999.) Instead, the trailer was for Sand Raiders of Sophie, where you’ll build a steampunk-inspired house-vehicle to cross the desert and fight enemies.

Sand Raiders of Sophie is set to launch on June 10, 2026, on PC, with the server slam currently underway.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

Then we dove into pirate-style assassin action with Assassin’s

Creed Black Flag Resynced made an appearance on our screens, and we even got the chance to savor a fun little sea shanty as well.

If you want to jump back into this Assassin’s Creed remake, you can play Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced when it launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on 9th July 2026.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin

Taking cues from the graphic novel of the same name, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin delivers a far darker take on the usually bright, joke-filled turtles. (It also nods to how the TMNT began as a parody of 1980s comics, pulling in inspiration from Daredevil and the X-Men.)

Made by Platinum Games, the studio behind Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden 4, this game puts you in the role of a lone turtle, determined to seek revenge for a family he’s lost. Expect fewer pizza jokes this time around …

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is slated to release on consoles and PC.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3

After that, Fortnite took the spotlight at Summer Game Fest. I don’t need to explain what Fortnite is, so here’s a quick look at Chapter 7 Season 3, Runners, arriving later this evening. Alongside it comes a new feature called Spites. These glowing little figures provide different power-ups once collected. John Wick is back, and we also got a sneak peek at the Fortnite Shattered end-of-season event.

Gundam Rogue Orbit is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam in 2027.

Crossfire

Crossfire is a fresh third-person tactical action-adventure that blends stealth with high-intensity combat. It also leans heavily into storytelling, centering on two rival operatives who end up having to work together. The Adaptive Cover mechanic may be what draws you in most: this cover system adjusts your positioning based on the terrain and the enemies nearby, helping you stay hidden for a longer stretch.

Crossfire will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Control Resonant

We didn’t see Sam Lake dancing (that’s more of a Game Awards moment), though we did get a trailer for Control Resonant. Now it’s time to head back to the FBC—this time from the perspective of Dylan Faden, Jesse Faden’s brother and the key character from the original Control. Resonant will push you to wonder whether the FBC is truly competent in their role, or if they just can’t resist poking at the supernatural a little too often, especially after something slips out of their headquarters—much to Manhattan’s trouble.

As a big admirer of the original game, I’m looking forward to Control Resonant launching on 24th September 2026 for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Guild Wars 3

Guild Wars 3 has officially been announced! It’s been 14 years since ArenaNet introduced Guild Wars 2, and at last the follow-up has arrived. I’ve been tempted to try Guild Wars for a while—mostly because I enjoy MMOs, but also because I remember running into the first game in PCWorld. (That said, I’m not sure it’ll pull me away from RuneScape.) The trailer offered an engaging look at the world, which seems captivating, along with some of the creatures that call it home.

Guild Wars 3 will be available on PC and PlayStation 5, and the beta will begin in Autumn 2027.

Star Wars Galactic Racer

No matter how you feel about it, it’s time for podracing! If you’re getting ready to take part in one of the most ruthless sports in a galaxy far, far away, prepare for Star Wars Galactic Racer. I even thought I spotted Sebulba from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

Star Wars Galactic Racer will debut on 6th October 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

End of Abyss

After touring a galaxy far, far away, it was time to plunge into the ocean’s depths in End of Abyss. This game shows that the sea is packed with plenty of horrors (just like in real life), so be ready if you plan on swimming in these waters.

End of Abyss will release on 1st October 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

RuneScape Dragonwilds

If you’ve followed me for a while, chances are you already know I’m a huge fan of RuneScape—no exaggeration. I’ll keep things short so you don’t have to sit through a long-winded rundown. (That said, if you still haven’t played RuneScape, you really should fix that.)

RuneScape Dragonwilds is Jagex’s survival crafting game, first landing in early access on PC last year. Now, it’s scheduled to make its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 15, 2026. You’ll also be able to play it on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium starting on day one. Curious about Ashenfall, a lost continent tucked into Gielinor? Want to raise your skills and explore a range of regions? Feel like taking on dragons? If that sounds like your kind of adventure, Dragonwilds is a great fit—for you and your friends, if they want to jump in too. (And honestly, I didn’t expect Geoff Keighley to bring up the Falador Massacre…)
