Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 map and loot pool changes

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, known as Runners, has finally launched, bringing fresh map POIs as well as brand-new weapons and items.

Runners highlights some of the biggest mid-season changes that Fortnite has seen. Chapter 7 Season 3 introduces a totally new island, while sprites are returning and reshaping Fortnite into an extraction shooter. The season also plans a variety of quality-of-life improvements and other tweaks later on.

Below is a complete breakdown of what’s new in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, covering the map, the weapon loot pool, and more key details.

What else is new in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3

This season puts a spotlight on extractingsprites. Sprites first arrived in Chapter 6 Season 1 and functioned as support items. In Chapter 7 Season 3, they work differently: you’ll need to carry sprites to an extraction site and collect them safely for use in future matches.

Sometime later in the season, there’s a small chance the Battle Bus will come back to the map during the match, giving players the option to hop on board and possibly turn the tide toward a win.

For players focused on competitive play, the update also introduces new Ranked rewards and an additional rank, Unreal. Reaching Unreal requires a skill rating of at least 2,500 and a spot within the top 500 on the Unreal Leaderboard.

There are also several quality-of-life changes rolling out, including the following:

  • Audio visualizer update: The audio visualizer will now adjust its transparency depending on distance. Sounds farther away will appear more faded, while nearby sounds will look clearer.
  • Battle Bus ADS: Players can now aim down sights from the battle bus for a better view of the map and to mark drop locations more easily.
  • Updated Storm times: Storm circle timings have been adjusted to reduce sluggish endgames, though these changes won’t apply in competitive or Ranked modes.
