On Wednesday, Rockstar shared a wide set of important details about Grand Theft Auto 6, and at last, we have clarity on what this game will cost. We also learned more about the Ultimate Edition, pre-order perks, and extra in-game extras. Alongside all that, Rockstar published more than 60 fresh GTA 6 screenshots, and the title is already taking shape as the most fashionable game of the year.
To help you stay on top of the flood of new GTA 6 updates, here’s a rundown of everything we’ve picked up as the game gets closer to its November release. First up—the biggest question on everyone’s mind: What will Grand Theft Auto 6 set you back?
GTA 6 pricing: What will the game cost?
After months of nonstop speculation and countless headlines, Rockstar has now put the pricing question to rest. GTA 6 is set at $79.99 for the standard release.
It will stand alongside Nintendo’s Mario Kart World as one of the standout $80 games on the market. A jump higher than the usual $70 price for a AAA title has felt likely for a while, but it still hadn’t happened—until now. Even with Mario Kart World, the listing notes that it’s frequently bundled with the Nintendo Switch 2, letting millions of players effectively pick it up for about $50. Microsoft tried to push the $80 model with The Outer Worlds 2, but reversed course soon after fans pushed back.
With costs rising across both everyday life and gaming, GTA 6 may be among the rare releases that can genuinely support a $79.99 price tag. It’ll be interesting to see how publishers react and whether major companies like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, EA, Ubisoft, and others begin testing $79.99 pricing for their top releases.
GTA 6 will feature an Ultimate Edition and pre-order bonuses
GTA 6‘s Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99, a figure some analysts had expected for the base game. It includes “a unique assortment of premium vehicles, weapons, attire, and action packed throughout,” according to Rockstar. Instead of getting everything immediately, you’ll unlock these bonus items as you play. You can review the full details on the additional content here.
Anyone who pre-orders GTA 6 or buys it before Nov. 20 will receive the Vintage Vice City pack. This set adds retro, stylish cosmetics for protagonists Lucia and Jason. You’ll get the ’55 Vapie Stainier car, a range of clothing and hairstyle options, and a tropical weapon design. Plus, you’ll receive a full month of GTA Plus—Rockstar’s subscription service that provides Grand Theft Auto Online in-game benefits.
Pre-orders will begin officially on Thursday, June 25. Since the Vintage Vice City pack remains available when GTA 6 launches on Nov. 19, there isn’t much pressure to pre-order (apart from starting preloads on Nov. 12), unless you’re especially interested in locking in that complimentary month of GTA Plus. You can also hold off, check reviews, and evaluate performance before jumping in—while still receiving the Vintage Vice City cosmetics.
GTA 6 will have a physical edition… but not quite
If you’ve been hoping for more traditional physical media, this may be disappointing: GTA 6 won’t launch on a disc. Rather, the physical edition will include a download code stored inside a box. The good news is that the physical version will reach stores a week early, so players who choose the code-in-a-box option can begin preloading by Nov. 12.
The specific reason GTA 6 won’t come on disc hasn’t been explained yet. One possibility is that the game is simply too large for a conventional disc release. PlayStation 5 discs can hold up to 100 GB, while Xbox Series X has a ceiling of only half that. As games keep getting bigger, 100 GB may not be enough anymore; titles such as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Baldur’s Gate 3 have already been released across multiple discs. In theory, the storage needs could exceed 200 GB and require three PS5 discs—making a fully digital approach a more practical option for Rockstar.
Once players can start preloading GTA 6, we should learn more about the game’s file size.
GTA 6 is a ‘single-player experience’
GTA 6 will arrive as a single-player game, according to the official descriptions posted on the PlayStation and Xbox websites. After laying out the pre-order details, the description says, “Grand Theft Auto 6 is a single-player experience.”
This immediately brings up questions about what happens to Grand Theft Auto Online. It was built alongside Grand Theft Auto 5 and went live in October 2013, not long after GTA 5 became available. Since then, it’s stayed popular, eventually becoming a standalone download in 2021.
Will there be a new GTA Online alongside GTA 6? At the moment, it’s still unclear. One possibility is that GTA Online continues as it is, with updates that introduce GTA 6-themed content. On the other hand, Rockstar could also unveil a completely new GTA Online mode set within the world of GTA 6. For now, we’re left waiting for more information.
Check out 63 new GTA 6 screenshots
Here’s one thing we can say for sure about GTA…
6: the game looks fantastic. Without a new trailer (Where is trailer 3?), screenshots are a solid substitute.
These newest images show how Lucia and Jason can be customized with different outfits and hairstyles. You’ll also spot lots of fresh shots featuring new cars and motorcycles. Since everything is set in a fictional version of Florida, you can even catch Lucia and Jason unwinding on a boat. Click here to view all the new screenshots.
Will GTA 6 debut on PC this year?
Try not to get too carried away. Rockstar has a habit of rolling out GTA games on consoles first, with the PC version coming afterward. (Grand Theft Auto 5 only made it to PC about a year and a half after its original debut.) Right now, GTA 6 is confirmed only for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Is GTA 6 actually arriving this year? For real?
It certainly looks that way. After all, video games can be vulnerable to unexpected hold-ups in ways films usually aren’t. Still, the evidence points to Rockstar releasing GTA 6 on Nov. 19, 2026.
With all the fresh information shared on Wednesday—and pre-orders beginning on June 25—there’s been no indication that Rockstar intends to push GTA 6 back again. The game has already absorbed two earlier delays. GTA 6 was first slated for a fall 2025 launch, then moved to May 26, 2026. Last November, it was shifted once more to Nov. 19, 2026, which has become a major point of attention across the industry.
Unless something surprising comes up, in a little under five months you’ll be making trouble and taking part in criminal mischief across not-Miami in Grand Theft Auto 6.
GTA 6’s pricing astonishes fans, but some are upset about the Ultimate Edition
Certain elements of the release are still causing discontent.
